Rating Different Sunscreens I’ve Tried

Skincare is something I am constantly talking about. I like giving my opinions on different products and possibly help others discover new brands. I am a little ashamed of my skincare journey because I did not start wearing sunscreen until 2019, and I did not understand the importance of wearing sunscreen indoors. However, if you want to prevent fast aging or a more severe matter like skin cancer, sunscreen is a must for your morning routine.

I have talked about a couple of different sunscreen brands on my blog, some have worked so well, and some I fully regret buying. So, here are five brands of sunscreen that I have tried.

AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 by CeraVe

This was the first sunscreen that I tried back in 2019, and I would say it’s okay. The problem is that it’s a two in one so you are not getting as much sun protection as you think you are. This could be a me problem but, I also noticed that once I applied it to my face, it became patchy and would dry out my skin. As far as white cast, I don’t believe it had too bad of one, but I cannot fully remember.

Daily Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 by Versed

Out of all the products I am talking about today, this one is my least favorite. The only perk of the product is that it’s tinted, so there isn’t a white cast. Other than that, it has a harsh, grainy texture that did not help my acne-prone skin.

daily spf by cocokind

This product has a very minimal white cast, which is excellent. It’s easy to apply to the skin and leaves your skin soft instead of a greasy look. I would say you do not need to use a moisturizer if you use this SPF. I have noticed that if you use both, your face can feel heavy with products. However, it’s $24, and the tube is not that big. You must apply a lot of sunscreen in the morning, so it’s easy to go through the product fast.

Anthelios Melt-In Milk Sunscreen SPF 60 by La Roche-Posay

This product is worth the hype it gets; there isn’t any white cast. It does what it says, which is to melt into your skin. I would, however, say that if you more oily skin to maybe stay away from this one. I have combination skin, and even I noticed a little bit of shine and grease on my face. Overall, it works well, and it goes well underneath my makeup.

UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 – EltaMD

If you have acne-prone skin or other sunscreens that cause your breakouts, then I highly recommend that you try Elta MD’s sunscreen. The product is made to help acne-prone skin. It is also very lightweight, with no white cast. It works super well under makeup and can help prevent future breakouts. However, it is a little pricy, but this is a product I do not mind spending money on.

These are my opinions on some of the sunscreens that I have tried; you might either agree or disagree with my ratings, which is completely fine! What I like to do for the sunscreen products I didn’t like on my face is use them on my hands. It helps protect my hands from the sun as well helps me not waste as many products.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what’s your opinion? Or, if there are any products that you think I would like, let me know. I always want to try new products.

Thanks for reading!
